OUR PILATES Team
Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor
Rehab and quality of movement has always been a passion for me as I quickly realized that only treating the symptoms will not bring a long term solution! I therefore expanded my Rehab knowledge by doing a 6-month Personal training course and I continued to search for deeper answers to quality movement patterns. I was privileged to come across Kinetic control (International courses), which changed my life with a deeper knowledge of treating pathology with continuous rehabilitation. Included in their courses was a Pilates based course to use as a rehab-tool! My life was changed for the better with the way I thought about movement – of my patients as well as my own well-being! Pilates is really a way of living for me… cannot imagine my life without it!
I really miss giving classes at this stage due to all the practice responsibilities, as it really energizes me to see everyone’s effort and hard work, to see that “wow” moment in clients eyes when they feel the “effortlessness” of quality movement – it is really such a privilege to work with peoples bodies and to push their boundaries within a safe environment! Hope to see everyone more often within the near future!
“if you love what you do, how can you call it work?”
Biokineticist and Pilates Instructor
I am a vibrant and passionate Biokineticist and Pilates Instructor, and is sometimes known as the “energizer bunny” who knows exactly how to teach and inspire her clients and friends!
I have been revitalizing Pilates for the past 3 years, and I pride myself on providing all the knowledge required to start, improve or master your body mechanics through.
“Consistency and communication is really everything, make every second count and memorable”
I am always willing and open-minded to learn something new every day and determined to reach my goals by giving my best each and every day.
As a Pilates instructor and Physiotherapist in the making, it is not only about giving exercises and educating my clients, but also having a better understanding of the unique challenges (physical or emotional) that they face every day. And sometimes, just to be there for my patients and clients!
I chose these career pathways because of my passion for movement and to empower people to a better-quality life. It is not always possible to heal or reverse certain pathology, but with a better understanding of how the body and mind works, and a strong and functional body, you can still have a super quality life!
Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I like to joke that I have more interests than talents. I am a fun-loving, life-grabbing, enthusiastic person and believe that my love for Christ is visible in my day-to-day life.
As a full-time farmer, my second biggest passion is Pilates. I enjoy breaking away from the farm from time to time to present Pilates classes – with a BIG BONUS to I see my wife, who also gives Pilates and lives in Bloemfontein.
My interest in the fitness industry started in school, presenting my first Pilates class in 2003. Since then, I have done numerous courses and qualified as a New York method Pilates instructor. I am also a qualified Yoga instructor and master personal trainer, though Pilates has now completely transformed the way I view strength and conditioning.
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams and follow your star, you’ll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things” – miss Tick; Terry Pratchett.
I started my Pilates journey with Anna as a Pilates client after a back injury, just after the studio opened. It was initially a humbling experience to learn about alignment, and true core strength working and initiating movement from the deepest layer of muscles. I was intrigued by how much more effective and effortless the body can move when working from your deeper core structures.
After intense rehab and healing my body and mind (also making peace with my body), I made a comeback to running and all other kinds of activities and adventures that I would not have attempted to do before. I made a heart-friend (when your physio becomes one of your best friends 🤗) but also found a circle of caring friends, physios and fellow Pilates enthusiasts AND wait for it: my loving husband HP (this is starting to sound a lot like an add🤔). HP and I share the joy of the practice and teaching Pilates together.
I did the New York comprehensive Pilates courses in 2017 and 2018 and is a fully qualified teacher now. As a full-time Pathologist, it only allows me to teach minimal hours, this however does not stop me from making people aware that there is a better lifestyle out there – Pilates is a way of living! It is the one thing that I regret only discovering Pilates in my 30’s, as I believe everyone should get involved with Pilates as soon as they possibly can.

Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor
It’s so hard to explain to somebody else who you are. Let me try…
I am Marianne Botha, a physiotherapist, Pilates instructor, mom of 4, bad cook, procrastinator and adventurous.
I left the Physiotherapy field for 10 years – one of my big mistakes in life. Life changed for me, for the better, since my return to Pilates and physio in 2016. What a privilege to be in a position where you can help people to have less pain, to start exercising and enjoying it, to move better, and to understand the human brain’s function in pain.
I love my job, but I would love it even more if admin wasn’t a part of it.
